Description

Best of St. Kitts Sightseeing Tour

Our St. Kitts tours are geared towards you, our valuable guest, to provide you with an exceptionally enjoyable visit, tailored to provide you with an understanding and appreciation of our people, culture, history, and natural beauty of our island.

Our sightseeing tour takes us through historical Basseterre, which has an eclectic mix of English and French heritage, a consummate blend of old and new architectural styles. The capital city was founded in 1625 by French settlers. Observe the stately Berkeley Memorial, in the center of what is known as the Circus, a replica of London’s Piccadilly Circus, Independence Square (formerly Pall Mall Square) where slaves were sold, the Co-Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and St. George Anglican Church.

We continue westward along the scenic coastline road to the first major stop, Romney Manor, which was once owned by Capt. Samuel Jefferson, the great great great grandfather of Thomas Jefferson the third president of the United States. Romney Manor is set amidst 25 acres of lush, tropical gardens, now home to Caribelle Batik, where skilled artisans produce a variety of multi-colored batik fabrics of exceptional beauty. Demonstrations of this unique art is held daily. Bask in the serenity of the gardens, which include a massive collection of exotic palms and a 400-year-old African Samon tree which gives evidence of the glory of nature.

Our second stop is the Majestic Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, which was once known as the Gibraltar of the West Indies. This unique Fortress is perched on the top of a volcanic cone 800 ft. above sea level, with stunning views of mountains, valleys, and neighboring islands in the distance. Walk on the battlements and view the living and working quarters of those British Redcoats who manned this garrison so many years ago.

Our tour of St. Kitts now turns eastward toward our third destination, passing quaint villages, mountains and hilltops, fruit trees, flora and fauna, while your tour guide regales you with humorous renditions of local folklore. Timothy Hill, our destination, as the gateway to the Southeast Peninsula, provides an unbridled panoramic view to this developing, but still tranquil area of St. Kitts. Mt. Nevis, the cloud-capped highest peak of our sister-island of Nevis, provides a majestic background to the Frigate Bay valley, luxurious resorts and villas perched on the steep hillsides and mountaintops, seemingly stretching into infinity, embracing Carambola Beach Club at Friar’s Bay beach. There you would spend time at the beach for those who want to stay and have a relaxing time. The sand is soft, the waves are gentle, the people are friendly. Prepare yourself to be mesmerized.

We look forward to providing you with a memorable experience on our special St. Kitts sightseeing tour.

Reviews

Island Paradise and Rosevelt-perfect together

Local native Rosevelt who includes a 10yr stint with the US Army on his resume returns to his island of birth to give all a wonderful day with great stories, impeccable knowledge and a leisurely day of exploration of St. Kitts. We had a pre-arraigned trip and were met by Rosevelt in his Lauren Polo button down shirt and dress slacks inside the Welcome pavilion. What a nice alternative to the taxi hawkers outside trying to drum up two more people to fill their vans. A no rush visit to the Batik factory as well as Brimstone Castle A wandering trip to a view of the luxury homes and atop the mount to see the Caribbean and Atlantic meeting. Along the way we were entertained with a free flowing conversation that touched on history, politics, and an obvious love of the Island.

Incredible Tour with Stanley

We had an absolutely incredible tour of St. Kitts. Stanley, our tour guide was very knowledgeable of St. Kitts, it's history, it's people, and the wildlife and vegetation. We greatly enjoyed the tour of the city, Brimstone Hill, Romney Manor, Timothy Hill, and Shipwreck Beach. One of the things we were so grateful for was that every other tour group we saw was leaving in these open-air taxi things, which looked cool, but I promise, you will enjoy the fresh cool air-conditioned vans that they have. It was so nice to get out of the sun, and have the AC running full blast for the whole trip. I don't think that I could recommend Island Paradise Tours even more.

Sooo much fun and so much knowledge!

Megan was our tour guide, and I can honestly say I have never had such a good tour guide! She showed us so many things I never thought of. We were at a scenic spot where a bunch from another group wanted a photo of a high point. She smiled and took us across the road and showed us many of the natural herbs that are growing wild, how they are used, etc. She knew so much history about the island that it made it even more interesting and consuming.I so seldom recommend excursions, since most pack all they can in and show you just top spots, but Island Paradise Tours breaks that mold! They really do more than show you, they teach you! Thank you for the best tour I've ever had!
